SVS Finals - Race Report

NICE race! Great venue, cool night navigation, and challenging checkpoints to get to. Not to mention awesome swag, and cheese cake!

Here's the report:

....The Transition Part:
This is where we had a chance to take a rest pyschologically and prepare ourselves for the next section. Kylie's feet had swollen beyond the comfort zone of her bike shoes, and coupled with the blistering (most likely from compensating from the painful left side of her foot) she got a needle-in-the-eye award (N.I.T.E Award?) for getting her feet in no matter what the cost. I was contemplating we try something else (tape her foot to her shoe, cut the shoe, not do the bike, or flip-flop it to the kayak). She was on a mission and got the shoe on with only a few explicatives...

Happy racing and training!

I would like to clarify that I had food with me during the bike section - I was just too stupid to eat it. Is that worse than having no food at all? ;-)

Cutting the shoe would've been an interesting experience....hmmm. Racing for another two hours or sacrificing a $90 pair of bike shoes. I dunnnno. Haha.

I had a fun time racing on Team UTM in a Haystack...maybe we should bring the Haystacks back for the '06 season. ;-)

BTW, that swag was great!

P.S. The "needle in the eye" phrase goes along well with "needle in a haystack"......
