....The Transition Part:
This is where we had a chance to take a rest pyschologically and prepare ourselves for the next section. Kylie's feet had swollen beyond the comfort zone of her bike shoes, and coupled with the blistering (most likely from compensating from the painful left side of her foot) she got a needle-in-the-eye award (N.I.T.E Award?) for getting her feet in no matter what the cost. I was contemplating we try something else (tape her foot to her shoe, cut the shoe, not do the bike, or flip-flop it to the kayak). She was on a mission and got the shoe on with only a few explicatives...
