Hey ARR members!
Just a thought ... I know in the past, the ARR site has traditionally been a place to post race reports for others to read. Kind of a one-way thing. It's working great, if for no other reason than helping the thousands people (guests) that find and read race reviews every month!
But what about using the site for adventure race discussion as well as report posting? In other words, making a transition from simply a one-way post-and-share experience ... to a two-way post-and-comment community?
I can think of a couple of reasons why this could be useful ... one would be that the report writers, who sometimes clearly put a heck of a lot of time into writing up a report, sharing photos, etc, might like to get some positive feedback on their efforts? A second reason is that there's a huge wealth of adventure racing information stored in the heads of the people that post here. As an ARR member, you have every opportunity to reply to their report and ask them questions -- how did they get through X scenario, what did they think about Y gear that they used, if they did the race again would they have done Z, you get the idea.
Again, it's just a thought ... I'd just like to say that I'd recommend, by all means, to comment about the reports you see posted on the site, and to ask questions to the authors!! All you have to do is hit the "REPLY" button and you can type in a quick message.
Think it's worth a try?
