The
Mild Seven Outdoor Questwas held in Sabah, Malaysina Borneo on October 28th, 2004. From the
MSOQ website:
Mild Seven Outdoor Quest (MSOQ) is the world's richest adventure race featuring seven sports over five-stages traversing approximately 300 kilometres. MSOQ is not an extreme race -- the fastest teams will complete each stage in less than 10 hours and all teams are fed and housed in a luxury hotel. The race course will be marked, but will also include orienteering elements. Each stage normally includes at least one "surprise" Adventure Skill test.
And the
Sportzhubsite has a nice team captain's report from Nathan Fa'avae of Team Seagate:
...The race started with a choice of doing an adventure skills or a kayak. Because we had 4 options of when to do the adventure skill it became important strategy because if you timed it wrong it meant you could lose time if a queue formed at the skill. We decided we would wait on the start line for 3 seconds after the gun had gone off and see how many teams were going to do it immediately. Bang! - 18 teams ran down the beach to the kayaks, only us and team Asta Factor were standing on the beach, so we both ran up the hill and completed the adventure skill comfortably - except for when Hadyn and I hit the beach on the flying fox...
