entering as solo only because I could not find another interested party. I would prefer a team but do not want to miss out so I am willing to race alone if need be.
In search of: 2 Person or 4 Person Team
Race Goals: I want to do the best I can and push myself to new limits. Being part of a team means that I want to do the best that WE can and push OURSELVES. That being said, "winning" without care to an individual is not something that I would want to be a part of. I like to do well with everything that I do but i also like to have fun and enjoy the experience. I have been a student of martial arts since the age of 7 and an instructor since 14. At the age of 28 now, I feel this has given me a great ability to work with others, stay focused, stay balanced under even the worst situations, push myself to new limits and motivate others. I think these are all great qualities for a team member for an adventure race. You will see that my experience below does not meet the required 12-24 HR Race pre-requisite but I hope a person/team will see the possible benefit. I am new to the organized sport but not new to the idea of pushing myself in an awesome setting/environment.
Experience: GOALS Edge '09 (6HR AR), (5) Trail races in '09, PMC Ride '09 (192 mile 2-Day Road Bike Ride), Metric Century Bike Ride '09, (2) Snowshoe Races '10, Run 3 days weekly (all weather conditions, mix of road and trail), Weekly 3 mile Fitness Hike since December (Fast paced, all weather conditions), Mt Biking experience since youth (no races), General Paddling experience since youth, Camping/Hiking skills since youth.
My experience is somewhat new to the Adventure Racing arena but my determination and training are right on I believe. My plan until today has been to enter Solo since I could not find a teammate(s) but I would much rather enter in as a team.
I look forward to talking more about joing another person or Team!

Team GLR (Go Long Racing) is seeking a third and fourth teammate to round out our 4 person co-ed team for eFix.
We have simple a goal for this race, to finish it. Anything else that happens is icing on the cake. More information on us can be found here: www.TeamGLR.com.
We are :
Captain: Jeff Papenfus - 4th year of AR, endurance mountain biker, runner and navigator. I own a canoe that we race in, it is very fast. I am not fast in it.
WorkHorse: Jim Kelleher - 7th year of AR, endurance mountain biker, runner and excellent paddler. Jim owns portage wheels for the canoe, apparently that might be a good idea to have. Jim is also pretty darn good at asking why we are going the wrong way.
You are:
Female: up for this 50 hour race, and looking for comfortable, good humored teammates that only enjoy going fast downhill. Have a decent sense of direction (and humor) and not afraid to ask the navigator why we are going the wrong direction.
Male or female: same, but with a canoe that qualifies for the paddle portion.
But seriously, we just enjoy being out in the woods, the strategy of attacking CP's and managing our performance during the race. Our expectations are to finish the race and have had a blast doing it.

I'd like to register for an AR event, but I think my first time would be best attempted with an experienced teammate. Is there a forum for meeting folks who are interested in teaming-up?
I've never competed in an AR event before, but would love to register for the 24 or 48 hour event. I've spent some time in the Army, so I'm familiar with UTM charting. I completed the 2009 Rampage 1/2 marathon trail run and I'm looking for the next adventure :)

We have three, lost the fourth due to finances. Plenty of expedition experience to be competitive. We don't expect to win, but race hard to finish as best we can.

ISO: Experienced adventure racer looking to join good (and fun!) team at this year's Odyssey EFix race:
I have 5 years of experience, am a good navigator, finished 5th in the 2008 Efix, love the sport, and come with plenty of gear (including a race-ready canoe). I live in Richmond, Virginia and am very familiar with the race location. CV available if needed.
